In the United States, it is not normal to telephone someone very early in the morning. If you telephone him early in the day, while he is shaving or having breakfast, the time of the call shows that the matter is very important and requires immediate attention. The same meaning is attached to telephone calls made after 11:00 p. m. If someone receives a call during sleeping hours, he assumes it's a matter of life and death. In social life, time plays a very important role. 基于多媒体网络技术的大学英语 教学模式初探 陈 蕾 (河南工业大学外语学院,河南郑州 450052) 摘 要:多媒体与网络技术的日益发展,促使了传统英语教学模式的变革。多媒体网络技术条件下,网络英语教学模式是双向的、互动的、开放的。在该模式下进行英语教学,对于提高英语教学效果有一定的促进作用。 关键词:网络教学模式;大学英语教学;多媒体;网络 中图分类号:G712 文献标识码:A 文章编号:1008-7516(2006)05-0111-02 一、传统大学英语教学模式的弊端 长期以来,我国大学英语教学一直以“教师讲授、学生听讲”这种传统的英语教学模式为主,尽管这种模式的产生是语言学习过程中诸多因素综合作用的结果,但在具体实践的过程中却有不少的问题。 (一)语言学习的主体错位 语言学习的主体应该是学生,但传统的英语教学模式在整个课堂教学过程中始终以教师为中心,一支粉笔、一张嘴占据了整个课堂,学生一直处于消极被动的地位。这种模式忽视了学生独立获取知识以及实际运用语言能力的培养,导致学生很难主动参与课堂学习,课堂气氛不活跃,语言学习变得枯燥无味,使学生的英语学习缺乏主动性、自主性和创造性。任何语言都是一种交流工具,只有让学生积极主动参与到语言交流学习过程中,他们才能真正领悟和理解语言,才能真正学会运用语言。 (二)英语教学单调乏味 近年来,由于高校大量扩招,导致英语教师严重缺编,大学英语教学基本上都是大班上课,每个教学班至少有两三个小班组成。面对如此多的学生,在课堂上教师根本无法开展诸如小组活动、角色扮演、课堂提问等生动活泼的教学活动,为了应付考试,教师不得不继续采用以教师为中心的传统的“满堂灌、满堂记”的教学方法。另外,传统的教科书虽然以图文为主,但都是静态的,内容陈旧,单一乏味,缺乏生动形象的语言环境,使得学生在课堂学习中普遍感到疲倦厌学,严重影响课堂教学的效果。 (三)无法兼顾学生的个体差异 学生无论在个性还是在学习方法方面都存在着个体差异,这种差异在英语学习中体现得更为突出。但由于各方面主、客观条件的限制,教师没有足够的时间和精力针对各个学生的具体情况进行必要的大量的操练与辅导,只能为照顾大多数学生的英语水平而顾此失彼,不利于整体教学质量的提高。 计算机多媒体网络技术的发展对传统的英语教学模式产生了巨大的冲击,多媒体网络技术具有交互性、形象性和高效性等特点,为英语教学打开了新天地,将多媒体网络技术运用于英语教学,可有效克服传统教学模式的弊病,最终将建立起一种新型的教育模式。 二、基于多媒体网络技术的大学英语教学模式 基于多媒体网络技术的大学英语教学模式就是利用计算机多媒体技术结合网络技术,打破时间和空间的界限,而建立的一种互动开放型的英语教学模式。 (一)实现多媒体网络英语教学的基础条件 111 2006年第5期 河南职业技术师范学院学报(职业教育版) 收稿日期:2006-07-20 作者简介:陈 蕾(1978—),女,河南西平人,河南工业大学外语学院讲师,主要研究方向为英语应用语言学。

龙源期刊网 https://www.sodocs.net/doc/ed11961258.html, 大学英语教学与中国传统文化的渗透 作者:向莉萍 来源:《职业时空》2014年第02期 摘要:针对大学英语教学中中国传统文化的缺失现象,分析了在大学英语教学中渗透中国传统文化的必要性,并从学习具有中国特色的中国英语、增加传统文化教学内容、实施对比教学、增加学生阅读量、拓宽知识面、开设丰富多彩的课外活动等方面提出了在英语教学中渗透中国传统文化的方法和途径,对提高大学英语教学效果,培养学生文化交流意识具有重要的实践指导价值。 关键词:大学英语教学;中国传统文化;英语学习 一、大学英语教学中中国传统文化的缺失 众所周知,语言和文化是密不可分的,语言是文化的产物,同时又是文化的载体,承担着传承文化的重任;而文化是语言存在的环境,是人类用来表达思想、传递感情的交际工具。Widdowson(1983)指出,语言学习应确立学习目的,而大部分人学习语言的目的都是为了交流,尤其是进行跨文化交流。交流本身是双向的,交流的进行意味着吸收和传播,两者不可缺少的。随着时代的发展,中国大学英语教学理念亦在悄然发生着变化,从最初的侧重于听说读写等语言技能的学习逐渐转向了对跨文化交流的重视,在大学英语教学中大量增加了目的语国家的人文、地理、风俗、习惯等方面的知识,这对促进英语学习者对英语国家文化的了解、更好地利用语言进行交流起到了积极的促进作用。但同时,也呈现出一定的认识偏颇,这种跨文化交流更多表现出了一种单向的交流,以课程设置而言,有精读、视听说、英美文学选读、英美概况、英美报刊等,所涉及的内容、练习和测试也是以英美文化为主,至于博大精深的中国文化,在大学英语的教学过程中几乎完全被忽略。而且由于受到强势文化的侵入,绝大多数学生更愿意了解和获取西方文化知识,他们对中国传统文化要么知之甚少,要么不能用恰当的英语表达中国文化,导致跨文化交际能力发展失衡,不但无法满足交流对象对中国传统文化的了解需求,而且由于表达不准确,容易造成外国人对中国文化的误解,从而产生了“中国文化失语现象”。 二、大学英语教学中渗透中国传统文化的必要性 1.有利于继承和弘扬中国优秀传统文化 中国传统文化是由华夏民族为主流的多元文化在长期的历史发展过程中沉淀而成的,包括思想观念、价值取向、道德情操、社会准则、风俗习惯、宗教信仰、文学艺术等方面。它是中华民族几千年文明的结晶,其内容博大精深,具有鲜明的民族特色和稳定的形态。随着经济的快速发展和改革开放的不断深入,全民英语学习热情日益升温,以英语为主要语种所承载的西

网络多媒体技术与英语教学 发表时间:2009-11-18T10:30:41.513Z 来源:《中外企业家》2009年第5期下供稿作者:薛小妹(西安欧亚学院,西安 710065) [导读] 随着网络时代的到来,信息技术已逐步深入到各个领域 摘要:随着网络时代的到来,信息技术已逐步深入到各个领域,并在各个领域发挥了越来越重要的作用。那么,在现代教育中,通过网络多媒体技术辅助教学已经越来越引起教育者的关注。通过分析英语教学与网络的关系,网络时代对英语教学提出的新的要求,发现网络多媒体技术在英语教学中的优点,提出可将网络多媒体技术应用于英语教学的观点,并提出了应该注意的问题。 关键词:网络多媒体技术;课程整合;课件教学;英语教学 中图分类号:G424 文献标识码:A 文章编号:1000-8772(2009)10-0179-02 一、英语与网络的关系 英语作为吸取人类文明成果和对外交流的重要工具,能否有效地提高质量将直接影响我国综合国力和国际竞争能力的增强。因此如何调动学生学习英语的热情,使他们全身心地投入到英语学习中去,是我们全体英语老师必须思考的一个重要问题。在当今信息社会,计算机已被认为是现代人不可缺少的基本技能。而当今的学生对于电脑、对于网络有着空前的热情,这是由于网络作为全球信息中心的特性所决定的。而想要真正地、充分地享受网络所带给我们的好处、便利和乐趣,掌握英语这门语言,是驶上Internet这条信息高速公路的必要的交通工具。反之,网络无所不包的特性,又为英语学习者提供了广阔的学习天地。因此,作为一个英语教师,如何把这两者紧密的联系起来,是摆在我们所有教师面前的一个重要课题。 二、网络多媒体技术在英语教学中的优点 “多媒体课件”简单来说就是老师用来辅助教学的工具,创作人员根据自己的创意,先从总体上对信息进行分类组织,然后把文字、图形、图像、声音、动画、影像等多种媒体素材在时间和空间两方面进行集成,使它们融为一体并赋予它们以交互特性,从而制作出各种精彩纷呈的多媒体应用软件产品。多媒体课件教学具有以下几个优点: 1.大大增加了课堂知识容量,提高了课堂效果。传统教学中课堂知识的传播主要来源于教师的口授与黑板板书,这两者速度的局限性限制课堂信息含量,使之具有一定的局限性。而通过多媒体课件,教师把课堂的主要内容,要点,通过投影让学生掌握,大大节约了黑板板书时间,让学生一目了然。 2.影音媒体的应用使课堂丰富多彩。传统教学中信息的传播依赖于老师的语言和板书,再会调动课堂气氛的教师也有疲惫的时候,而课件教学中影音媒体的应用却大大调动了课堂气氛。 3.课件教学能有效的解决教学难点。在教学中遇到比较抽象的知识点时,单凭老师的讲解会显得枯燥乏味,或有些知识凭老师的叙述,学生无法清晰的理解。这时候课件教学却能收到奇特的效果。 三、英语教学中网络课件的应用 网络教学其教学活动的组织不可能仅仅依托网络,而是在传统的课堂、网络等方面同时展开。具体到我们所设计的教学课件中,其在教学过程中的使用主要为以下三个方面: (一)课堂辅助教学过程 当网络多媒体课件应用于常规的课堂教学时,和我们以往所使用的多媒体辅助教学课件的功能基本是相同的。在这里我依然想简单地陈述一下使用时应注意的几个方面: 1.教师应发挥其主导作用。在英语课堂上,教师所具有的很多作用是计算机的功能所不可取代的。师生之间课堂上互动性的交流是最有效的教和学的途径。因此,英语课堂上开始时的Free Talk、Duty Report,及师生之间的口头交流依然保留,教师仍然应该是整个教学活动的组织者和灵魂。媒体始终应该是教师教学活动的辅助设备,是处在被支配的地位,只有将教师的理念和创造性赋予其中,才能真正显示出其活力。 2.发挥学生的主体性。我们在制作课件时,应充分体现学生的主动性和创造性,多为学生创造思考的空间。这就要求教师在使用多媒体辅助教学系统时,要善于通过多媒体教学系统引导学生思考、讨论、回答问题,而不是限制学生的思维,被动地跟着老师走。 (二)评价反馈自主学习过程 当课堂教学进行到了一定程度,学生们对本课内容、情境有了基本认识之后,下一步,开始让学生在学校自己上网,复习、补充、验证自己课堂学习效果。因为在最初课件制作中,我们已经将所有的教学目标,课文内容讲解、分析、录音、习题,课外补充知识等都放在了课件之中,所以,学生们只要登陆上网站,就可以自主地选择学习内容、方式,学习在课堂上未能完全理解、接受的知识体系。对于其不理解的问题,即可以直接向教师提问,也可以在BBS上留言进行讨论或等待教师回答。 (三)网络研究性学习过程 比如在我所设计的“Dealing with Aids”一课中,加入了很多关于本课的课外知识内容,及一些扩展知识相关网站的超级链接,并且根据教学需要调整了相应BBS内容,以便于师生们通过BBS实时进行交流讨论。 在对课本基础知识有了较完整理解后,由任课教师提出研究性课题内容“Nowadays How about the sex education in China?”要求学生分小组上网浏览查找相关内容,将自己的论点、论据整理起来,供大家研究。最后,还要请同学们上来用口头语言表达,以达到想、说、写同时训练的目的。 四、值得注意的问题 (一)唯网至上 网络引进教育教学,有目共睹的网络给教育教学带来了一次深刻的革命,但它不能代替学生的操作、实践等活动,也不能取代教师的地位,它只是一个帮助我们认识世界的好工具。 (二)操作技能 网络是一把锋利的双刃剑。师生操作技能的高低直接影响到教学效果的好坏,加强网络技术操作技能的培养十分重要。教师素质的提

刍议多媒体网络对英语教学的帮助 发表时间:2012-06-25T11:45:09.793Z 来源:《当代教育之窗》2012年第5期供稿作者:唐建胜 [导读] 科学研究表明:在学习过程中,同时使用视觉、听觉等多种感官,能明显地提高学习效率和学习效果。 唐建胜(曲周县第三中学河北曲周057250) 随着素质教育的全面推广,将各种可以提高教学效率和教育质量的技术手段应用于教育是教学发展的必然趋势,而信息技术教育已成为现代教育的重要组成部分。作为当今较为成熟的视听技术和传播科学被应用在教学中,正以迅猛的发展速度、强劲的渗透能力,受到了人们的广泛关注。以计算机和网络技术为特征的信息技术的发展,给当今中学英语教学改革带来了契机。它对实现教学目标,整体优化教学过程,培养学生创新能力,提高教学效率,全面实施新课程标准有不可低估的作用。 1.多媒体教学能激发学生学习兴趣,让其在快乐中学习 心理学家认为:凡是新异的、直观形象的、灵活多样的刺激物或手段,都容易引起学生的注意,唤起学生的兴趣,激发他们的良好的学习情绪。从中学生的年龄特征和高级神经活动规律的角度来讲,新颖活动的刺激物,最容易引起大脑皮层有关部位的兴奋,以至形成优势的兴奋点。教师通过电脑网络制作各种多媒体课件,把所学的知识配上生动形象、色彩鲜明、感染力强的计算机辅助软件,将与教学相关的文字图片视频声音歌曲卡通动漫相结合,内容丰富多彩,这样学生被生动的教学内容、新颖的教学方法、活泼的教学情境所感染和吸引,就能激起学习的兴趣。教师在课前根据课文内容准备一些实物、视听媒体,给学生提供感性认识和思维的依据,使抽象的概念具体化,使抽象的知识生动化。这样视听结合,深入浅出的教学,符合人的认知规律,学生兴趣盎然,乐于接受,真正做到轻松学习,快乐学习. 2.巧用多媒体课件,营造良好语言环境 科学研究表明:在学习过程中,同时使用视觉、听觉等多种感官,能明显地提高学习效率和学习效果。而在我国目前的中学英语课堂教学中,缺乏母语的学习环境,无疑使多媒体课件成了最佳的教学辅助手段。合理使用多媒体的现代化教学手段,能为学生提供最佳的外语学习环境和学习情境,激活课堂教学的整个过程,培养学生初步运用英语的交际能力,促进学生综合能力的提高。如在教授Hallo –万圣节时,教师可以利用多媒体课件播放一段西方人过万圣节的片子,就能让学生立刻对万圣节有个形象、直观的了解,这远比教师拿着图片反复解释西方人是怎么样来过他们的万圣节有效得多。而当教师想要在课堂上营造一个过生日的氛围时,只要利用多媒体课件呈现生日聚会的图片并配有生日歌,或者展示一段过生日的录像片段,就能使学生瞬间进入过生日的情境之中,从而便于他们在自然的语言环境中进行交际,使他们有话可说。 3.网络的运用对课堂教学效率的提高有极大的辅助作用 课堂只有45分钟,对于英语学习实在太少。而无所不包的网络给我们提供了一个更为广阔的学习天地。例如:在学习八年级新目标英语How do you make a banana milk shake ?这一单元的时候,当学完教材上要求的making a banana milk shake、making fruit salad、making sandwich后,我先要求学生:(1)运用教学软件。例如:金山词霸,东方快车等,查出一些有关食谱方面的材料;(2)组成学习小组进行分工,到网上寻找有关中、西方的饮食习惯;(3)对在学习过程中存在的问题随时请老师或小组的同学讨论帮助解决并记录在个人文件夹上;(4)把读到的和查到的东西通过小组合作制成幻灯片课件。教师归纳总结存在的典型问题,集体评议每小组作品的质量和艺术性并布置下次学习内容。综合讨论评价打通了学习小组间知识的局限,让每一个工作小组在评价别的小组工作的过程中掌握更多的知识。 4.网络交流有利于建立和谐融洽的师生关系,从而促进教学活动的良性发展 《学记》云:“亲其师,信其道;厌其师,废其道。”学生只有对老师、对英语、对英语学习以及英语文化产生积极的情感,才能保持英语学习的兴趣并取得进步。苏霍姆林斯基说:“学校里的学习不是毫无热情地把知识从一个头脑里装到另一个头脑里,而是师生间每时每刻都进行心灵接触.”然而,除了班主任,其他科任老师和学生的接触几乎仅限于课堂,课外的感情沟通非常有限.通过网络这一平台,学生可以和老师进行自由平等的交流,更容易流露自己的真实情感,教师真诚地和学生交心,了解他们的个性心理,对他们在生活和学习上的问题指点迷津,成为学生的良师益友。几年时间里,很多学生和我上网聊天,有的基础很差上课从来不敢开口讲英语的,我用简单的英语和他们聊,慢慢的居然能写完整的句子,假期还用英语给我发邮件,不少调皮学生也在网上对我敞开心扉,我也以朋友的口吻为他们指点迷津.事实证明这种来自课外的情感交流有利于排除学生在学习上的心理障碍,从而调动其学习的主动性和积极性,对于教学是大有裨益的。 当然,任何事物都是双刃剑。网络给与我们方便的同时,也带来许多问题。网络上的内容良莠不齐、真假难辨,而年纪尚小的学生们难以区分好坏,容易受到不良影响。因此,作为教师和指导者,我们要替学生把好关,引导学生如何合理利用网络,让网络为我们所用。虽然有诸多的问题和困难,计算机及网络的发展不可否认地在改变着人们的经济模式和文化观念,同时对英语学习也产生了巨大的影响。作为一个全新的教学模式和手段,网络信息化教学会受到学校和社会越来越多的关注,也必将对传统的英语教学造成冲击和深远的影响。
