15选10

1.▲Good communication is the key to success when leaning online. You should take the opportunity to get to know your teacher and classmates through em ail and by participating in Internet discussion. This will lead to a more positive and rewarding learning exp erience.▲It’s true that learning the technology nee ded to take part in a class can at times be frustrating .For example, you may need to ask how to post your assignment on the Wed. But, don’t worry! If yo u have a problem, ask for help. There’s no such thing as a stupid question, so there is no need to be intimidated or embarrassed. Sharing insight and answ ers freely is what makes the Internet such a great medium for learning.▲Online classroom teacher Mike Roberts was asked about what he thought the greates t benefit of online learning is. “As a teacher, I need the student to ask questio ns so that I know what areas of my lessons need further explanation. That’s what is great about teaching and learning over the Internet. In an ordinary clas sroom, time is limited, so students seem to ask the minimum amount of quest ions possible. But in the virtual classroom ,students are always asking question s. They really seem to feel comfortable, asking me for the information that the y need. They also share a lot of valuable ideas with each other in a way that y ou don’t usually see in a regular classroom.”

2. ▲I have to you about the way you dress. I was a little intimidated to comm ent in person, so I am writ ing instead. I hope this doesn’t upset you ,but som ething has to be done. I must appeal to you start dressing like mom.▲Your un ique sense of fashion is more like a sister’s than a mother’s. Personally, it’s embarrassing to have a mom who dresses younger than I do. Your wear T-shir t with torn jeans and your nose is pierced. My friends say it’s strange ,but I t hink they’re being a little too negative. It’s most likely because their boyfrie nds think you are pretty. Still, if you want me to have any friends in this comm unity, it is vital that you remove the ring from your nose and start dressing lik e the other moms. Don’t your peers ever show any concern?▲Don’t you re member how horrible being a teenager can be ? I feel awful because I think p eople of my age would rather talk to you than to me. Last week at the shoppi ng center, I had the absolutely worst experience of my life. The young man w ho took our money asked if you were my older sister. I thought he would likel y ask you out if I hadn’t said “Thanks, mom” t o you. It was disgusting.

3.▲Some people just can’t keep from giving. That was the way it was with my neighbor. Despite being crippled, she was very active. In fact, she seemed to d o more for the community every day than I ever do in a year’s time. I was al ways amazed at the pace she kept. On Mondays and Fridays, she worked at a college giving students guidance on what career to choose. On Tuesdays and T hursdays she helped out at a church that gave aid to people without homes. A nd on the weekends, she taught local kids who needed extra help with their s choolwork. And most importantly, she always had a positive attitude. I don’t r

emember once hearing her complain about her troubles. The stresses of everyd ay life never seemed to bother her. Instead, she looked for every occasion she could find to spread her good humor around. I remember when I had just los t my job. She took a day off from work to spend time with me and listen to my trifles. She never once became impatient with my complaints. She never ac ted like there was anything in this word more important than what I had to sa y.▲What I regret now is not having ever really done anything for her. I suppos

It can be so stressful being interviewed for a job. It’s very depressing when yo u don’t get any encouragement from the person who is asking you question. But, do n’t worry. I’m sure you made a better impression than what you think.”▲“I don’t think I impressed her at all. It is estimated that as of 1999, 13 million children had lost their parents to AIDS. Although there i s no cure, people in more developed countries can get medicine to help. In Afr ica though, most do not have access to new medicines. Most people neglect g oing to the doctor to find out if they have the disease. Because they have not been diagnosed with the illness, they continue to spread the disease without knowing it. Many men leave their rural homes to find work. This threatens ma ny people when the workers have AIDS and their behavior is not safe.▲In resp onse to this crisis, many groups have set up programs. The goal is to educate people about AIDS. It is difficult to implement such programs, though, because of poor literacy rates. Some education programs have worked, though. One su ch project combats people’s fear of getting tested for AIDS. Other campaigns focus on schooling for the poor.

III. 1. rewarding 2. communicate 3. access 4. embarrassing 5. positive 6. commitment 7. virtual 8. benefits 9. minimum 10. opportunities IV. 1. up 2. into 3. from 4. with 5. to 6. up 7. of 8. in 9. for 10.with V. 1.G 2.B 3.E 4.I 5.H 6.K 7.M 8.O 9.F 10.C Sentence Structure VI. 1.
