汽车专业英语词典
CVVT是英文Continue Variable Valve Timing的缩写，翻译成中文就是连续可变气门正时机构，它是近些年来被逐渐应用于现代轿车上的众多可变气门正时技术中的一种。例如：宝马公司叫做Vanos，丰田叫做VVTI，本田叫做VTEC，但不管叫做什么，他们的目的都是给不同的发动机工作状况下匹配最佳的气门重叠角（气门正时），只不过所实现的方法是不同的。
韩国现代轿车所开发的CVVT是一种通过电子液压控制系统改变凸轮轴打开进气门的时间早晚，从而控制所需的气门重叠角的技术。这项技术着重于第一个字母C （Continue连续），强调根据发动机的工作状况连续变化，时时控制气门重叠角的大小，从而改变气缸进气量。当发动机低速小负荷运转时（怠速状态），这时应延迟进气门打开时间，减小气门重叠角，以稳定燃烧状态；当发动机低速大负荷运转时（起步、加速、爬坡），应使进气门打开时间提前，增大气门重叠角，以获得更大的扭矩；当发动机高速大负荷运转时（高速行驶），也应延迟进气门打开时间，减小气门重叠角，从而提高发动机工作效率；当发动机处于中等工况时（中速匀速行驶），CVVT也会相对延迟进气门打开时间，减小气门重叠角，此时的目的是减少燃油消耗，降低污染排放。
CVVT系统包含以下零件：油压控制阀、进气凸轮齿盘、曲轴为止感应器、凸轮位置感应器、油泵、引擎电子控制单元（ECU）。进气凸轮齿盘包含：由时规皮带所带动的外齿轮、连接进气凸轮的内齿轮与一个能在内外齿轮间移动的控制活塞。当活塞移动时在活塞上的螺旋齿轮会改变外齿轮的位置，进而改变正时的效果。而活塞的移动量由油压控制阀所决定的，油压控制阀是一电子控制阀其机油压力由油泵所控制，。当电脑（ECU）接受到输入信号时，例如引擎转速、进气空气量、节气门位置、引擎温度等以决定油压控制阀的操作。电脑也会利用凸轮位置感应器及曲轴位置感应器，来决定实际的进气凸轮的气门正时。
当发动机启动或关闭时油压控制阀位置受到改变，而使得进气凸轮正时出于延后状态。当引擎怠速或低速负荷时，正时也是处于延后的位置，比增进引擎稳定的工作状态。当在中符合时则进气凸轮在提前的位置，当中低速高负荷时则处于提前角位置增加扭矩输出。而在高速符合时则处于延迟位置以利于高转速操作。当引擎温度较低时凸轮位置则处于延迟位置，稳定怠速降低油耗。
FSI是Fuel Stratified Injection的词头缩写，意指燃油分层喷射。燃油分层喷射技术是发动机稀燃技术的一种。什么叫稀燃？顾名思义就是发动机混合气中的汽油含量低，汽油与空气之比可达1：25以上。
大众FSI发动机利用一个高压泵，使汽油通过一个分流轨道（共轨）到达电磁控制的高压喷射气门。它的特点是在进气道中已经产生可变涡流，使进气流形成最佳的涡流形态进入燃烧室内，以分层填充的方式推动，使混合气体集中在位于燃烧室中央的火花塞周围。如果稀燃技术的混合比达到25：1以上，按照常规是无法点燃的，因此必须采用由浓至稀的分层燃烧方式。通过缸内空气的运动在火花塞周围形成易于点火的浓混合气，混合比达到12：1左右，外层逐渐稀薄。浓混合气点燃后，燃烧迅速波及外层。
FSI特点是：能够降低泵吸损失，在低负荷时确保低油耗，但需要增加特殊催化转换器以有效净化处理排放气体。下面分别详细阐述：
FSI发动机按照发动机负荷工况，基本上可以自动选择2种运行模式。在低负荷时为分层稀薄燃烧，在高负荷时则为均质理论空燃比（14.6-14.7）燃烧。在这两种运行模式中，燃料的喷射时间有所不同，真空作动的开关阀进行开启/关闭。在高负荷中所进行的均质理论空燃比燃烧中，燃油则是在进气冲程中喷射。理论空燃比的均质混合气易于燃烧，不必借助涡流作用，因此，由于进气阻力减少，开关阀打开。而在全负荷以外，进行废气再循环，限制泵吸损失，由于直喷化而使压缩比提高到12.1，即使在均质理论空燃烧比混合气燃烧中，仍能降低燃油耗。进一步说，在FSI发动机中，在低负荷与高负荷之间，作为第三运行模式而设定均质稀薄燃烧，在这种运行模式中，燃油在进气冲程喷射，并且由于产生加速稀薄混合气燃烧的纵涡流，开关阀被关闭。这时，阻碍燃烧的废气再循环（EGR）暂不进行。与均质理论空燃比燃烧不同的是，吸入空气量超过燃油的喷射量。

The chemical energy in fuel is converted to heat by the burning of the fuel at a controlled rate. This process is called combustion. If engine combustion occurs with the power chamber. ,the engine is called internal combustion engine. If combustion takes place outside the cylinder, the engine is called an external combustion engine. Engine used in automobiles are internal combustion heat engines. Heat energy released in the combustion chamber raises the temperature of the combustion gases with the chamber. The increase in gas temperature causes the pressure of the gases to increase. Engine terms are : TDC(Top Dead Center):the position of the crank and piston when the piston is farther away from the crankshaft. BDC(Bottom Dead Center):the position of the crank and piston when the piston is nearest to the crankshaft. Stroke : the distance between BDC and TDC; stroke is controlled by the crankshaft. Bore : the internal diameter of the cylinder. Swept volume : the volume between TDC and BDC Engine capacity : this is the swept volume of all the cylinder e.g. a four-stroke having a capacity of two liters(2000cm) has a cylinder swept volume of 50cm. Clearance volume: the volume of the space above the piston when it is at TDC.
