因父母外出,罗斯和莫妮卡开始准备自己的感恩节大餐;

钱德力图抵制感恩节因为当年他的父母在节日那天宣布离婚;

游行当中大气球脱线飞走了;大家都跑上楼顶去看热闹,结果忘带钥匙全被关在了莫妮卡的门外;

belly n.腹部,胃/belly-time胎教时间/“Not that I believe any of this”,这是一个强调句型,相当于I don’t belive any of this,Ross一方面不想让Susan一个人独享同胎儿亲近的机会,另一方面又非着重强调他是个PHD的身份,不相信这一套。 M:I hear the hocky game was packed. W:Not an empty seat in the house!Just standing room only.

这其中故事大家都很熟悉了,只有Rachel不清楚,所以她不解地问:你和这节日怎么回事呀?(what is it with you and this holiday),这句话应该熟记,以后有什么觉得好奇的时候,就不用生硬的去问what’s wrong 或者what’s the matter了。

Chandler: All right, I'm nine years old.

Ross: Oh, I hate this story.

Chandler: We just finished this magnificent丰盛的 Thanksgiving dinner.

I have--and I remember this part vividly--a mouthful of pumpkin pie满满一嘴的南瓜饼, and this is the moment my parents choose to tell me they're getting divorced.

【Season 1 Index】 Episode 101 : The One Where Monica Gets A New Roommate (Pilot) Episode 102 : The One With The Sonogram At The End Episode 103 : The One With The Thumb Episode 104 : The One With George Stephanopoulos Episode 105 : The One With The East German Laundry Detergent Episode 106 : The One With The Butt Episode 107 : The One With The Blackout Episode 108 : The One Where Nana Dies Twice Episode 109 : The One Where Underdog Gets Away Episode 110 : The One With The Monkey Episode 111 : The One With Mrs. Bing Episode 112 : The One With The Dozen Lasagnas Episode 113 : The One With The Boobies Episode 114 : The One With The Candy Hearts Episode 115 : The One With The Stoned Guy Episode 116 : The One With Two Parts, Part 1

【103】The One With The Thumb antique’s NO.3 The One With the Thumb 1. Phoebe: Um, not so good. He walked me to the subway and said 'We should do this again!' “We should do this again”,表面上好像是以后我们还应该再继续约会,其实这是dating language,往往都是反着说的,近年来网路上有很多类似的帖子,大家可以找来看看,很搞笑的。 比如“I t's not you'”就是“It is you”,“You're such a nice guy”意思是“I'm gonna be dating leather-wearing alcoholics and complaining about them to you”等等。 Cushions the blow. 3.Monica: I mean, why should I let them meet him? I mean, I bring a guy home, and within five minutes they're all over him. I mean, they're like- coyotes, picking off the weak members of the herd . Paula: Listen. As someone who's seen more than her fair share of bad beef, I'll tell you: that is not such a terrible thing. I mean, they're your friends, they're just looking out after you. Pick off the weak members of the herd,摘取、挑选弱处下手的意思。 4.Paula: Well, you do realize the odds of that happening are a little slimmer if they never get to meet the guy .odds这里的意思是可能的机会、几率,相当于Chance。 5.Monica: (to Alan) Thanks. I'll call you tomorrow. (Alan exits, to all) Okay. Okay, let's let the Alan-bashing begin. Who's gonna take the first shot, hmm?

The One With The Tea Leaves Teleplay by: Steven Rosenhaus Story by: R. Lee Flemming, Jr. Transcribed by: Eric Aasen Parker。 8.17 The One With The Tea Leaves Joey and Rachel live with[v. 后果) of the announcement of his feelings. To give them something to talk about, Rachel invents a story that her boss wants to buy her baby.

This backfires when Joey visits the office and confronts him. Phoebe reads the group's tea leaves to tell their fortunes. Her own leaves tell her she's about to meet the man of her dreams. She does meet someone (Jim), but her turns out to be a creep. But then she meets another guy (Parker) who seems more promising(adj. Ross realizes he's left his favorite shirt at Mona's apartment. He tries to retrieve(v.拿回) it when she's not there, but gets caught. Monica discovers that Chandler doesn't put the CDs back in the right cases, so a project to organize them is undertaken. [Scene: The Hallway, Rachel walks up the stairs and knocks on Joey’s door.] Rachel: Joey? Are you in there? [Cut to inside Monica and Chandler’s, Monica, Chandler and Joey are eating breakfast.] Joey: (hearing Rachel and jumping up with his plate) Oh God! That’s Rachel! Monica: Joey, you have to talk to her! Joey: No-no, I can’t! I can’t! Not after the other night, it’s just it’s…too weird, okay? Don’t tell her I’m here! (Turns to run to the bathroom and his bagel falls off the plate onto the floor.) Don’t eat that! (Runs to the bathroom as Rachel enters.) Rachel: Hey! Chandler: Hey! Monica: Hey Rachel! Rachel: Is Joey here? Chandler:I don’t see him. (To Monica) Do you see him? Monica:I don’t see him. Hey! Maybe he’s in the sugar bowl! (Opens the sugar bowl) Joey? Nope! (Closes the sugar bowl and they both laugh.)

【102】The One With The Sonogram At The End antique’s No.2 The One With the Sonogram at the End 1.Rachel: Everything you need to know is in that first kiss. 2.Chandler: Yeah, I think for us, kissing is pretty much like an opening act, y'know? I mean it's like the stand-up comedian you have to sit through before Pink Floyd comes out. 3.Marsha: Well, she has issues. Do you have any issues? 4.Carol: Marty's still totally paranoid. 5.Rachel: Oh, like I wasn't dreading tomorrow enough, having to give it back to him... 'Hi Barry! Remember me? I'm the girl in the veil who stomped on your heart in front of your entire family!' Oh God and now I'm gonna have to return the ring, without the ring, which makes it so much harder... 6.Chandler: Kinda puts that whole pillow thing in perspective, huh, Mon?“kinda”在片中出现的次数非常频繁,也是口语中非常实用的词语,意思是有一点儿,相当于kind of. 7.Monica: I know this is going to sound unbelievably selfish, but, were you planning on bringing up the whole baby/lesbian thing? Because I think it might take some of the heat off me.Ross和Monica的父母来看望他们,由于从小父母就喜欢Ross(因为Ross成绩优异,为人老实,而

【101】The One Where Monica Gets a New Roommate antique’s NO.1 The One Where Monica Gets a New Roommate 或者the one where,或者the one which... 1. Chandler :So does he have a hump? A hump and a hairpiece? 2. Ross: I just feel like someone reached down my throat, grabbed my small intestine, pulled it out of my mouth and tied it around my neck.. 3. Ross:Why does everyone keep fixating on that? Remember:fixate on sth. 4. Joey: Strip joint! C'mon, you're single! Have some hormones! 5. Rachel: I realized that I was more turned on by this gravy boat than by Barry! And then I got really freaked out, and that's when it hit me: how much Barry looks like Mr. Potato Head. 这句话里面有三个词组需要解释,第一个是turn on,也就是打开的意思,比如turn on the radio,这里是指让某人更兴奋激动的意思,想一想,平时在路上走,这时候有个sexy美女路过,你就可以说:wow,the gal really turns me on.第二个是freak out,这个词组很重要,几乎在每集都能听到,频率高的吓人,看来口语中很实用,在论坛上我看到以下几种解释,觉得不错,a.have an extreme reaction to sth b.act abnormally (under the influence of drugs) c.make sb feel extreme plaesure or unease,也就是表达焦躁害怕不安等情绪的意思。 6. Joey: You got screwed. 7. Paul: No, it's, it's more of a fifth date kinda revelation.
