【课题】Unit 2 section A 1a-2c (1课时)

【学习目标】

1.能掌握并运用情态动词could / should;

2.能正确运用“What should I / he / she / they / you / we do?”句型寻求帮助;

3.掌握并运用“What’s the matter? What’s wrong?”等句型询问对方遇到的问题。

【重点、难点】情态动词should和could的用法及重点句型。

want sb. to do sth 想要某人做某事

2.I argued with my best friend.

1)argue(名词)争吵,争论argument (名词)2)argue with sb. 和某人争吵。

3) argue about sth.为某事而争吵

argue with sb about sth. 因某事和某人争吵。= have an argument with sb about sth He is always arguing with his wife about money. 他因为钱的事正在和他的妻子争吵3.My clothes are out of style

(be)out of style = (be)out of fashion 过时的,不时髦的,

其反义词组为in style/ fashion 流行的,时髦的。

High heel shoes are always in style for office ladies. 对于职业女性来说高跟鞋总是很流行的。

4.I don’t have enough money

enough 意为“充足的,足够的”,既可以做形容词,也可以做程度副词。

1)a.做形容词修饰名词时放在名词前:

We have enough food to eat. 我们有足够的食物吃。

b.作程度副词修饰形容词时,放在形容词后。The water is hot enough.

2)( not )enough …to do sth(不)足以做某事。

He is old enough to join the army. 他足够大可以参军了。

5.Maybe you should call him up.

1)maybe是副词,表推测,意为“大概,也许”。一般放在句首,引导句子。

may be由情态动词may加系动词原形be构成。一般放在句中。

Maybe he is John’s father. 也许他是约翰的父亲。

He may be a student. 也许他是一名学生。

2)call sb up 表示“打电话给…”同义词组:give sb a call / ring 或telephone sb 当宾语sb是名词时,既可放在up前也可放在up后.当sb是代词时,只能放在call和up 中间。例如:Please call me up. I’ll call Tom up=I’ll call up T om

6. You could give him a ticket to a ball game.

a ticket to`````意为“····的票”,to是介词,表示所属关系。常见的有:

1.I need to get some money to pay for summer camp. 我需要搞一些钱来支付夏令营的费用。

pay 表示支付、花费,在句中主语是人Pay-paid-paid。

pay for 〃〃〃〃〃〃…,为…付款. 同义词有spent,cost. take 。常用于下列句型:

①sb pay some money+ for sth 付多少钱买···主语是人

如:I paid 60 Yuan for the dictionary.我付了60元买了这本字典

②sth +cost sb some money主语是物eg: The dictionary cost

me 60 Yuan.

③Sb +spend some money on sth/(in)doing sth 主语是人

eg: I spent 60 Yuan on the dictionary。/ I spent 60 Yuan buying the dictionary.

④It takes sb some meney to do sth .主语是It

eg: It took me 60 Yuan to buy the dictionary.

2. borrow sth. from sb. 是指该句的主语从别人处(往里)借进某物

lend sth. to sb. = lend sb. sth. 是指该句的主语把某物(往外)借给别人用

Keep 作借讲时,keep sth for some time 借某物多久(keep后接的时间段)

例:He borrowed the dictionary from Lucy yesterday. 他昨天从露西处借了那本字典.

例:I can lend you a book, but you must look after it well我能借你一本书,但你必须好好保管=I can lend a book to you 例:you can keep the book for two weeks你可以借这本书两个星期

3.①either adv.也,仅用于否定句,位于句末。

I can’t play chess. She can’t, either.我不会下国际象棋,她也不会。

②too 也,用于肯定或疑问句,位于句末

I’m a teacher.He is a teacher, too.我是老师,他也是老师。

③also也,用于肯定句中,常位于助动词之后,实意动词之前.I also like Beijing

【总结反思】情态动词could与should“推心置腹”表建议的用法

(一)should的用法

should为情态动词,表示劝告、建议,意为“应该”,它和其他情态动词一样,没有人称和数的变化,后接动词原形。其否定形式为shouldn’t,意为“不应该,不要”。

Maybe she should say sorry to you.也许她应该跟你说对不起。

You shouldn’t eat too much 你不应该吃的太多。

(二) could的用法

1)能,能够,作can的过去式用,表示在过去有能力做事

My uncle could speak two foreign languages when he was in college.

2)可以能,作情态动词,常用于委婉的语气中,这时通常用于下面两种情况。

第一种,用于礼貌地向别人请求准许

如:could I use your car? Of course, here you are/sorry, you can’t .I’m using it now 第二种用于委婉地建议别人去做某事,此时语气比should轻。肯定回答用can、may、with pleasure等,否定回答用sorry,I can’t
